I love the idea that « Criticism is an integral part of art’s existence ». This is so true whether supportive or negative. If the art holds up to the expectations and philosophy about aesthetics than it lives. There needs to be more of this evaluation across all media. Let’s increase the quality of our artistic examples. Sure any artist can create whatever they want but really powerful pieces should stand out on their own.

It's like you read my mind! I was gearing up to write a similar post. I saw an interview snippet from TS saying, "We gotta get the kids reading. Ophelia was driven mad by love, and so the play on it, the hook is like, someone comes into your life and rescues you from the fate of being driven mad by love." Almost lost my mind over that one. Ophelia is not driven mad simply by love but an accumulation of grief, loss, heartache, and a disregard of her own autonomy. Goes so much deeper and these lyrics are insane to pair with Ophelia of all characters
